The XStep turf lies flat on any solid surface (concrete, asphalt, or wood decking). For a softer feel that’s easier on your knees we suggest adding a thin rubber mat (1/8”-1/4”) under the turf (Home Depot, Lowe’s, Tractor supply, etc). and extending around the edges 12”-24”+.
