#6 Bad Rock Creek

#6 Bad Rock Creek

Since TechDiscs are built in Kansas City this event has a special place in our hearts! The home of the KC Wide Open has undergone several design changes over the past few years to keep up with the skills of the top pros.

This time we analyzed one of our favorite doglegs, hole 14. The tee shot requires distance with control to reach the sweet spot in the fairway. Players who execute that perfectly get the chance to throw a tight and touchy downhill shot that needs to settle on a built-up green before flying off into the pond. Small errors in hyzer angle, nose angle or launch angle will result in a punishing OB.

Hole 1 underwent some major terraforming to create specific landing zones cut out of the existing pond to give players multiple options to aim for. The tiny, elevated green across the water has become an icon for this course and event.

Hole 18 will be one of the great finishing holes on the Pro Tour if the weather allows it. This is the site of the 2020 Bushnell commercial with Paul Ulibarri, and an ESP Nuke is a great choice if you have the 68-70 MPH throw needed to reach the ideal landing zone. After the tee shot players face several options for landing zones and paths depending on how aggressive or safe they want to play.
